The Titans clinically disposed of their opponents, the Gloucestershire Gladiators, to give the side their third win of the season and extend their unbeaten run to over a calendar year.

Swansea came into the game expecting a battle and for much of the first half it was just that. The Gladiators had a couple of dangerous runners who rotated at quarterback and wide receiver and they did a fairly good job at slowing down the Titans power run game early on. However, the Titans talent on offense worked its way into the game and mid-way through the second quarter was able to sustain a drive, which saw QB Simon George punch in TD number one of the game.

Momentum began to swing in the Titan’s favour as first cornerback David Ponting and then second defensive captain, Rhodri Pritchard-Jones, picked off the ‘Glads’ QBs. The second turnover left Swansea at mid-field with less than a minute on the clock. A short completion set-up a deep pass attempt that connected with rookie safety/wide receiver Joe Cotterill, which would have been his first reception and TD for the Titans had it not been called back for a holding penalty. Despite this, the ball was then tossed to Jacob Amadi who promptly broke off a 40 yard run, reversing field and scoring right before the break, 0-16 Titans.

The Titans received the ball at the start of the third and continued to build on their end of the second as second year wide receiver CJ Caparas hauled in a 40 yard TD reception. As the ‘Glads’ began to chase the game, another turnover opportunity arose as defensive captain Adam Salter miraculously snagged the ball out the air and returned the ball 40 yards as the rest of the defense went flying in to block for the bearded linebacker.

QB George promptly rushed the ball in for his second rushing TD of the game after some hard running from fullback Josh Hughes. As the Titans began to rotate some guys in 25-year-old rookie WR Simeon Stoodley clung on to his first catch on a fade route and took it into the endzone for another score. An impressive and very pleasing end to the game as ‘Sim’ had only just come back from a neck injury.

The score finished 0-36 to the Titans and sets up a derby game with the Cardiff Cobras who are currently top of the South West at 4 & 0.
